Title: YMCA Global survey on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the #GlobalGoals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.

Based on the 17 goals and their sub-goals World YMCA initiated a survey to map the work that has been done across the Movement to achieve the 2030 agenda. The involvement of young people is crucial to the achievement of the Goals, as their main aim is to create and foster a better future for the generations to come.

In the study, we asked respondents - representatives of national organizations to note all the SDGs and for their sub-goals in which they accomplish activities, as well as give the examples of ongoing programs with indicating the number of beneficiaries.

The results of the Survey showed a high level of involvement of the YMCA national movements in the implementation of the sustainable development goals through ongoing programs. The research involved 51 countries in the following areas: Africa (11 ctry.), Asia and Pacific (8 ctry.), Europe (15 ctry.), Latin America and the Caribbean (14 ctry.), the Middle East (1 ctry.), Canada and the USA.

According to the study we found that YMCAs in these countries covers 17 SDGs. Below is a summary table of results represents the quantitative ratio of every SDG and the number of countries covering them in their activities
